F & C - The Movie!

Review by - The Movie Show

This first film by Deny productions is simply a standout. Set around Launceston, it begins when the F&C Mojo (2 bonds t-shirts) is stolen and follows the adventures of Steven James and his band of goodies to recover them.

James is brilliant as the hero, bringing a Tom Cruise like presence to the role and revealing himself to be a natural poser of immense talent. Daniel Zuj co-stars at 'the devil',  oozing dark sex appeal as he broods his way through the bad guy role to give a stand out performance.

Ben Holyman is equally brilliant as Steven's faithful but dumb sidekick. Holyman is masterful in adding to this impression by allowing his script to be filmed as he read from it in several scenes. As per any great martial arts flick, our hero seeks the advice of a wise master, a role Chris Kolodziej was born to play. This reviewer is baffled by the costuming choices here. Kolodziej is utterly believeable in his delivery but is the viewer expected to believe that any wisdom could really come from someone wearing a Carlton jumper?

Nevertheless, Kolodziej's fly and truck wash scenes are definately  highlights of the film. Brandi-Lee Ryan's cameo is a show stopper, unfortunately it also caused the films G rating to be changed to MA15+ and led to a scheduled screening by the Disney Channel being dropped.

In another cameo role, tea totaller, Maria Campbell, sacrifices it all for art by drinking Jim Beam in her portrayal of a distraught instructor whose students have disappeared with the mojo. As far as fight scenes go, the clash between Alex Ward and Sam Loone is a standout. There is a stong supporting cast which i will come back too when its not so late at night.

The locations are amazing, there is a jet ski chase, a fight scene at prime time McDonalds, a crane assisted rescue and numerous other Launceston landmarks feature. The production team of Cathy Kolodziej, Ange James, Katrina Freeman and Sarah Kolodziej are to be applauded for this outstanding product although their sanity should probably be examined at some length.

Do yourself a favour - 5 Stars.

The movie can be purchased from Katrina for $10.00. Order through your instructor, all funds to the social club.
